About the trials

Accredited ( LA.01.103 ) and notified ( NB 1397 ) by the Building Product Certification Centre
The laboratory for wastewater treatment plants performs:

  • Testing of small (up to 50 SGS) wastewater treatment plants (sewage treatment plants) according to LST EN 12566-3;
  • testing of wastewater treatment plants (sewage treatment plants) of more than 50 SGS for technical certification;
  • various technological tests for waste water treatment plants (WWTPs).

As of 1 July 2010, LST EN 12566-3 became mandatory. After ordering and carrying out the necessary tests, manufacturers can CE mark their treatment plants in accordance with the EU Construction Products Regulation 305/2011 (see "About CE marking" ). The tests will help manufacturers to open up markets in Europe and other regions, to improve their plants, to improve the quality of their treatment, and to save materials.

NVIL laboratorija

The laboratory is new, modern, independent and staffed by competent personnel.

SPSC also offers wastewater treatment plant certification and
technical certification services.

How to order

When ordering tests, please fill in the free form application. In the request, please specify how many and which types of plants you want to test, whether you want to test the phosphorus and/or nitrogen treatment efficiency.

We will provide you with a commercial offer and test conditions based on your request, specifying what information and documentation you need to provide.

Requests should be submitted to:
SPSC headquarters or laboratory (see contacts).

Contact person:
Arnas Danila, laboratory manager, expert.
You can also contact the Centre's general addresses and telephone numbers.

Address of the laboratory:

Frequently asked questions

How to understand the statement in the wastewater treatment plant certificate: 'complies with the essential requirements of LST EN 12566-3:2007, except for the method for determining the treatment efficiency (see Annexes 1 and 2)'? Isn't this supposed to be the essence - the treatment efficiency? Do they determine the cleaning efficiency according to formulae that suit them, which they write down under perhaps ideal operating conditions?

Cleaning efficiency is certainly the point. The statement'meets the essential requirements of LST EN 12566-3:2007, except for the method for determining the cleaning efficiency (see Annexes 1 and 2)' does not mean that the cleaning efficiency has not been determined and evaluated, but that the method for determining the cleaning efficiency is not the method described in LST EN 12566-3:2007. As stated in the certificate, the Annexes should be consulted for full details of the efficiency and the method of determination.
The SPSC issues certificates to all manufacturers under the same conditions, after assessing the efficiency of the treatment plant in accordance with the following documents:

  • "Methodology for the initial (technological) assessment of factory wastewater treatment plants", State Enterprise Certification Center of Building Products, 2003, Vilnius;
  • Regulation on the Application of Wastewater Treatment Plants, approved by Order of the Minister of the Environment No D1-412 (2006-09-11).

Further questions can be addressed to the laboratory manager (Arnas Danila).

Legislation and documents

Building technical regulations

  • STR 1.01.04:2015 "Assessment, verification and declaration of stability of performance of construction products without harmonised technical specifications. Designation of testing laboratories and certification bodies. National technical assessments and designation and publication of technical assessment bodies' This Building Regulation lays down the requirements for the assessment, verification and declaration of constancy of performance of construction products not covered by harmonised technical specifications, the procedure for the designation of testing laboratories or certification bodies to carry out third-party tasks for the assessment and verification of the constancy of performance of construction products.

Orders, Decisions

  • Order No D1-487 of the Minister for the Environment of 11 September 2006 on the approval of the Regulation on the application of wastewater treatment plants.
  • Order of the Minister of the Environment No D1-15 (24.01.2022) "On the approval of the list of regulated construction products".

Wastewater treatment plants tested

Please note that the current legislation (Order No D1-412 of the Minister of the Environment of the Republic of Lithuania of 11 September 2006 "On the Approval of the Regulation on the Application of Wastewater Treatment Plants") establishes a different procedure for the assessment of typical factory wastewater treatment plants (depending on the capacity of the plant):

  • For small wastewater treatment plants (up to 50 GE), which are required to bear the CE marking according to LST EN 12566-3 as of 1.7.2010, the manufacturer/supplier is obliged to carry out the laboratory tests of the typical factory wastewater treatment plant in a notified body. Below is the list of plants tested in the SPSC laboratory.
  • For large wastewater treatment plants (over 50GE), certificates of conformity issued by the designated body are required to certify the conformity of the plant with the requirements of the technical certificate. Below are the technical certificates for wastewater treatment plants prepared by the SPSC and the certificates for the products assessed against them.

Please note that information on tested plants is only published with the consent of the manufacturer or at the manufacturer's request. Therefore, the list of wastewater treatment plants published by the SPSC laboratory does not reflect all the plants actually tested.

Comments:

  • The results given in the test report and in the performance report refer only to the tested sample. It is the responsibility of the SPSC laboratory to ensure that the results obtained during the test are correctly reported.
  • It is the responsibility of the manufacturer (authorised representative, importer, distributor) to ensure that the test results are correctly used and presented in the declaration of performance and in the documents accompanying the CE marking.
  • The test reports and the performance report issued by the SPSC are the property of the manufacturer and the SPSC personnel are not authorised to publish their content without the consent of the manufacturer.
